Barbara E Shepard worked extensively in public and community arts projects as 'Artist in Residence', facilitating community groups and developing courses. In the murals she sought to amalgamate disparate ideas chosen by the participants to create cohesive imagery and composition. They are overwhelmingly figurative but the synthesis of ideas created unique and unexpectedly, visually intriguing outcomes.
